Don’t give up!

I’m proud to say that I am finally consistent! And by consistent, I mean 6 months of good sleep with a steady growth of my account. This journey began back in March 2016 when my friend introduced me into forex. I’ve lost an average of 1k per year until the start of 2020.
For those feeling horrible because you been stopped out or in a sea of reds don’t be demoralised, think of it as you are paying your school fees. Forex can be a very expensive education...
Things that I have learnt since the start. (May vary person to person)
In my personal opinion! Demo is for new traders like me to learn the basics of forex and once i was familiar with the market, I went live with money that I was okay to lose. I only went back demo to test my strategy when I could trade without emotions. It was a ton of trial and error until this day 😆
If you are like me, a student... My greatest tip for you is to not trade during exams / project submissions...
Trade safe, trade well!
[Edit] I should probably give an idea why I would specifically point out the list of things.

Why do a lot of people hate people that choose to coast in life?

I am a self admitted coaster myself, I am not ashamed to admit it.
Although I coast, I still work very hard in the right circumstances, I just do not believe in unneeded toil.
I do work, I am in the army, but even here I am basically going to stay in as minimally as possible while obtaining as much certification as possible that will lead to a somewhat cushy well paying job in the civilian world, I view it more as a relatively fun business opportunity that I am not totally emotionally invested into.
Even still I try to do things as much my way as possible and not over stress, in basic training for example, I would pay people that didn't care about getting caught to burn shine my boots, a method that takes about 20 minutes at most and makes them look significantly shinier than the other recruit who spends hours spit shining them, during this time I would instead catch up on some much needed sleep. I don't feel like the pointless toil would of made me any more "disciplined" and I excelled during important physical portions and weapons training, stuff that actually mattered.
Another example, about 3 times a week we would all get together for group PT, its usually pretty much cross fit. Anyway one guy in our unit has the "give all effort for everything attitude" that I find largely obnoxious and pointless for such irrelevancy, and of course he injures himself twice missing out on opportunities, while I am coasting though setting unit records because I have smartly built my cardio and strength at my own progression over the years.
I used to own my own business before the army, I am not to proud to admit that it failed, pretty much due to inexperience and personal crisis, even still I worked very hard 100 + hour weeks and had established a moderately successful sales business that was mostly passive. I also attended networking events with other entrepreneurs and many had the same mentality, work insanely hard early for an easier ride later on, when I start another business inevitably, this is the end goal, have an easier life and more passive income, that is essentially what owning a business is. Of course another minority of these people took no interest "business loans" from their already wealthy parents so it was always a coast.
One person I always look up to is an old forex trader that was a friend of my ex girlfriends dad. I have dabbled in forex myself and asked him for tips and opinions on my charting, he thought I was on the right track and shared much of the same mentality I do. I told him how people would laugh at me and mock me for trying so hard to learn how to trade stocks because of my background and apparent lack of education. He responded to me saying he had experienced much of the same scrutiny until he started making it big and that the average person likes to drag you down because they are pre-programmed to do so because the media makes it seem so unachievable without already having a level of "education" unachievable to the common person. This man is multimillionaire with no formal training and spends all his time traveling, going to his cottage, playing guitar with local bands and smoking pot, I strive to be able to do pretty much the same thing.
I am not ignorant to the fact that a lot of people do not like me for what I am or what the perceive me as, I have been slacker based insult both to my face and behind my back, but a lot of people do like me as well and from what I have experienced already in life, the 40 hour plus workweek is pretty much a trap and the vast majority of successful people I have personally met (people that live off a passive/semi passive income and are well off NOT people making six figures and working themselves to death) share the same mentality and try to separate themselves from unnecessary toil and actually enjoy life.

Boyfriend (21M) is lazy, does nothing, doesn't even look for jobs which is sending me (21M) and him over the edge slowly.

Hi all.
This is the 4th time I've tried to write this, and I $ you not, I've been writing for the last hour.
So I work full time, earning approx. £24k per year which is a bit over minimum wage.
My boyfriend used to have a job in another area around 100 miles away when he lived back at home however when we moved in together 5 months into the relationship he came with me.
3 month after moving in, he got a job at a local supermarket working 16hrs per week and said it's not somewhere he wants to stay forever, and it was okay for the start as he was getting plenty of overtime. Eventually he wanted to be working full time somewhere.
He has dreams and ambitions of having his own business, like a tattoo parlour, or a pub, or something like that. He has plans to travel the world and wants to do this all with me.
He does want to go to Uni, and for this he needs to resit a few of his exams which he keeps mentioning he wants to do.
Issue is, that around Feb/March 2019 he had to leave his job on medical grounds (couldn't lift heavy items anymore and this was his job).
Since then I started helping him apply for new jobs, at first he got a few interviews (video, phone and in person). The video interview he never did saying that the camera inverts the way he looks so he doesn't want to do it, the phone interviews he did all of them however he missed some as he slept through the day to stay up at night watching GoT etc., he had some in person interviews as well of which he went to one, and was unsuccessful, and since then hasn't been to one. He's had invites for a few more since but still hasn't gone to any.
I have even resorted asking my managers to put in a good work to recruitment to get him working where I am.
He really does want a full time sustainable job and is avoiding jobs such as cleaning, takeaways (McDonalds, KFC etc) which is fair enough, I don't have an issue with that.
When I say I helped him apply for jobs, I mean that I was doing all the applying for him, again which did not bother me at all at first.
It's not been 6 months going on 7 since he was unemployed. As mentioned I get around £24k per year which does leave us really short after bills, repayments on a few of my debts, food etc. is paid for. We're living from payday to payday and one month's wage will only last us 4 weeks, so the 5 week months we have to go a few days pretty much without food and rely on leftovers.
We agreed from day one of moving in to split the bills, which we initially did whilst he was working in the supermarket however eventually when things got difficult and he was stuck doing his part time contracted hours I told him I'd cover all the bills - again - didn't bother me. I see it as our money, not my money his money type of thing.
I am fortunate however that recently my parents have been paying for my shopping and also giving me some homemade food, so that's a monthly expense saved however most of that goes to the bills that I fell into arrears with (i.e. I'm in arrears with gas, electric, water, council tax, his phone bill is in arrears which I'm paying off). After all bills go out, we're left with pretty much £50-£80 emergency money (depending if TV license is due etc).
So, I'm fortunate that I'm able to keep the house afloat with the help of my parents for the nutritional aspect. The only thing food-wise I pay for is dog food as I don't want my parents to be feeding my dogs (makes me feel like a bit of a failure lol). As long as my dogs and my boyfriend are eating, I'm happy.
There's been days where we've been short on food with a day to go until the weekly shopping with my parents, I've lied to my boyfriend and said I've already eaten at work as there was a free buffet on (which work never have), just so he has the last bit of food as if I said to him I was hungry he would never agree to eat it.
Going back to the topic, it's been now 7 months since he's been unemployed. Total jobs applied for are around 100 (even though I was trying to aim for 5 jobs per day for me to apply for him, we all know that's hard whilst working full time as well).
He complains that I'm tired and want to sleep all the time, he complains that we never do anything fun, he stays up all night watching TV and playing video games whilst I'm asleep alone in bed (I don't think I've slept with him in the same bed for a few months now) with one of the dogs whilst he tends to the other.
He wants to be successful but I feel like he's honestly not doing anything about it? A few months ago I put my foot down and said that I'm not going to be helping him anymore as all the jobs I apply for there is some type of problem, and it won't feel the same because it's me doing it and not him so he won't even know what job it is if they ring him back! I told him to try and aim for 5 jobs per day. This was around 2-3 months ago I think. Since I told him this, he's probably applied for around 15-20 jobs in total (I'm thinking more around 10). When I ask him how the job hunt is going he gets defensive, saying that I'm putting him under a lot of pressure that he needs to find a job and he doesn't want any pressure.
I'm starting to think he's not the hard-working individual he proclaimed to be at the start of the relationship.
My week generally consists of waking up around 5am daily, studying the financial markets (search on Google for Forex) until around 7am. Then I start work between 8am-12pm and finish between 4pm-8pm depending on the shift I'm on (it's 7 hour shifts). After I get home, I do tend to carry on studying, reading books, researching on the financial markets as this is what I aspire to be in the future (a full time private currency trader).
He knows all this and sees me working all the time and he says that I work hard and he's proud of me however it makes me feel selfish, and guilty in fact, that I don't feel the same back to him? I've told him even if he volunteered somewhere that's a start as at least he wouldn't be home all day.
He suffers with some mental health issues and so do I in fact. Mine are financially related, struggling to provide for my own household sends me under. We used to have a car and went for daily adventures when things were good. We both miss this.
I miss him.
Again... I'm going off of topic!!! Let's get back to the job situation. He had one response from a job application around a week ago that gave him an in person interview after a successful telephone interview however they withdrew the a few days before his in person interview. I told him not to worry and that there was going to plenty more, he didn't sound too bothered by it but I do think he was upset as he liked the sound of the job.
I want him to get a job and I sometimes feel like grabbing his head and shaking it to put it right lol! I don't want him to feel under pressure but at the same time I want him to understand that he needs to find one as we're relying on other people for essentials at the minute. He wants a good life and I want to be able to start saving money so I can start my Forex trading career as well eventually.
That's the money side of things.
The other side of things is the emotional side. He's deteriorating emotionally and he won't accept this. He's losing the plot and I've told him this. He'll go angry over the smallest things. For example if I was to accidentally slam the door shut (i.e. put more force onto it when not needed because I'm thinking the window is shut when it's open) he'll comment on it. He never used to do this. Same door, same window. He won't leave the house for weeks at times. I have to force him to sometimes. When he wants something (i.e. a snack or a soft-drink) he'll ask me to go across the road (literally 10 steps away) to get it. Leaving it my choice to decide what he eats and drinks. When I tell him he should go and get some fresh air at the same time, he doesn't want to as he's not confident in his own body (he tans, and I've told him not to put as much on whilst we can't afford to buy new ones whenever he needs it, more-so when we can). He'll get a bit annoyed over small things like the pillow on the sofa not being in the right place after I've sat on it and just got off - or if I was in a rush in the morning and left the ironing board out, or had not done the bed up or accidentally left the foot towel on the floor without moving it onto the radiator after I've had a shower. He'll wake up around 4-5-6pm, and then complain that I don't see him or speak to him when I get home and go back to studying and reading what I am doing, even though I'm sat right next to him. I tend to try and sleep as late as I can so I can at least get some time with him even if it's 30-45 mins. Sometimes this is as late as 1:30am, of which you can understand if I wake up at 5am including weekends I'm getting lack of sleep, but I'm used to it so it doesn't bother me really.
All I want is for him to be happy, and for him not to go insane. Even right now, the last time he left the house was.... I can't remember. Perhaps weekend before last weekend when he walked the dog (which I had to practically force him to do).
Props to him he does do most of the housework. He hoovers the most, does the dishes the most, does the washing up the most, lets the dogs out to the toilet the most. I do the money-making, feeding the dogs, the cooking and the ironing. But these aren't limited, we can swap or one of us can do it all one time at the agreement the other will do it all or whatever surplus there was next time.
He's getting settled for this life, a life that we're both not used to but he's settling for it. And I don't want him to. It's killing him on the inside.
I've even tried to explain that if we ever have an unexpected bill, god forbid, how will we afford it? I've sold everything in the house that I could possibly sell to make some extra money. We've literally got a TV, sofa, Xbox, bed, kitchen appliances and two laptops (one that I do my studies one and the other that used to be my brother's that he [boyfriend] uses to play games and watch Netflix - doesn't use to apply for jobs as doesn't have Word on it for CV which is fair enough). I leave my laptop at home all day and have everything logged on for him overnight so he can apply for jobs either whilst he's awake whilst I'm asleep or whilst I'm at work.
So my question/advice is... how should I motivate him to apply for jobs, how should I go about it whilst keeping into account everything that he doesn't want to feel (under pressure etc.)? How do I explain to him that it will actually give us a better life that we're both used to? How can I explain to him that without him having a job, all of our plans, our ambitions, our goals, our travelling will never happen?
Please, if anything else needs explaining or I've not covered anything do not hesitate to ask. I do not take offence to anything whatsoever.
Thank you guys in advance, I hope some ideas can come to light for myself and anyone else in my situation.
Best regards,
X

My experience with forex signals.

Hi my name is D and I have used multiple forex signal providers in the past and I would like to share my experience with the community in the hopes of warning others to wisely pick a signal provider and not burn their hard earned money like I did. ( I know this post is long but please give it a read before you start trading with any signal providers.)
So what made me start following signal providers? I had friends who were trading the forex market by themselves and making profits. I wanted to be like them however I was too impatient. I did not have the confidence to enter trades based on my own analysts as I was still in the learning stages but I still wanted to make some money from forex.
I started my search on instagram to find my first forex signal provider. It was then that I started my year long journey of subscribing to a signal provider and then switching to another one when the previous one was not profitable. (No. I did not switch provider right after a month as I believe every trader has bad months. I had multiple accounts to enter different signals from multiple providers.) After about a year, most of my accounts were down and I told myself I had to put a stop to this senseless burning of money. Today , I am proud to say that I am able to trade by myself profitably.
I risk 2% for every trade no matter the size of my SL and TP. SL of 20 pips with TP of 40 pips? 2%. SL of 50 pips with TP of 100 pips? 2%. My lot size will just be smaller. Every profitable trader will agree that risk management is everything and is what keeps you in the game in the long run.
Over the many months I have collated the data and managed to pinpoint the exact reasons why my accounts were in a deficit even when the signal provider will show that it was a profitable month. There will be 5 reasons that I will be covering and I hope you take note of each one because if you see a signal provider, it is a huge red flag that you will not be profitable if you follow it.
  1. Every post is showing off their lavish lifestyle and saying you should quit your 9-5 job
This is a huge huge red flag that the provider is not genuine. Real traders know that forex is not some get rich quick scheme and it takes months, even years of hardwork to start seeing results. They are trying to sell you a dream that you can get rich right away just by purchasing their signal package lol. Looking back, I realise that their analysts was total crap probably because they spent most of their time flexing on their gram. Genuine traders do not have to be such a douche about things as they know the value they offer and do not have to resort to such means to get attention.
  1. Bad risk reward ratio
Risk and reward ratio is everything. If your RR is 1:2. You only need to hit take profit 33% of the time to break even. 1:3? 25%, even better. Any percentage higher and you would be making money. Some signal providers only send trades with RR of maybe 1:1, some even lower than that. This means you have to hit take profit 50% of the time to break even. That is honestly pretty hard to do. So not only do you not make money, you end up losing.
  1. Setting multiple take profits
This is the biggest scam ever and how I was so stupid to not notice it sooner annoys me. Firstly, there is nothing wrong setting multiple take profits to secure some $$ first. However these providers do it in a way that makes it seem their week was profitable while in reality it was not. So let me show you how the maths works. I found an example of one of these trades from a provider I was once subscribed to. ( I have added in the number of pips from entry to save you from the calculations)
BUY XXXXXX NOW @ 1.59650 Sl: 1.59300 (35 pips) Tp1: 1.59822 (17.2 pips) Tp2: 1.60000 (35 pips) Tp3: 1.60200 (55 pips) Tp4: 1.60600 (95 pips) Tp5: 1.61000 (135 pips)
Wow! Looks good doesn't it. Nope it is actually not. Lets break it down. For calculation purposes assume that I risked 5% of my account for the entire trade. I would have to open 5 different positions, each risking 1% of my account. No now lets assume best case scenario and all the trades hit take profit, this is how much account growth I would have in total.
Tp1: 0.49% Tp2: 1% Tp3: 1.57% Tp4: 2.71% Tp5: 3.85%
Total of 9.62%!! Wow not too bad right almost a 1:2 RR. However this is rarely (almost ever) the case. In reality it does not often hit TP 5, normally TP 3 and if you are lucky TP 4. In the case of TP 3 your RR would be negative. This factored in with not knowing when to set your SL to entry and having little clue when to actually take profit as TP 4 and TP 5 is highly you will be left with a huge drawdown.
So now for the best part. How forex signal providers make it seem that they are profitable. Lets say this trade hits SL, never mind its just a 35 pip loss, dont sweat it. Hits TP3 ... wow! 107 pip gain!!! (17.2+35+55) What a good trade! Yup you risked 5% for a 3% gain, nice one. Now you understand how people get scammed by those forex gurus posting huge pip gains and little losses, PIP GAIN DOES NOT EQUAL PROFITABILITY DO NOT BE FOOLED
  1. Unrealistic RR
Constant signals of RR of 1:4 and higher?? Sign me up please. Yup some providers do this and once the trade is entered they tell you price looks like it is about to retrace blah blah blah and ask you to close it at 1:0.5. A well known forex signal provider still does this but no name shall be mentioned. Worst still etc. you risked 100 pips for "400pips". And the provider celebrates that you caught at least 50 pips! 50 pips is a lot if your risk is maybe 15 pips, but you risked 100? No please that was terrible.
  1. Not caring that different currencies have different pip sizes
For example GBPAUD EURUSD have completely different pip sizes, great you are 60 pips up in GBPAUD and down 45 in EURUSD, still 15 pips in profit! Nope, lets assume you opened 1 lot for each trade, you will be up $410usd for GBPAUD and down $450usd for EURUSD. It is a totaly unnecessary gamble hoping that the trades with a bigger pip value will be up. One way to "counter" this to calculate it such that each pip value is the same. Lets say you want 1 pip to be 1USD, for GBPAUD it will be a 0.145 lot size, for EURUSD 0.1.
These are the reasons why a reliable signal provider is extremely hard to find and instead of earning some money quickly you will find yourself in a hole and in the cycle of changing signal providers. I personally feel it is better to spend your money learning forex and strategies from courses provided online and eventually trade by yourself. The key in forex is patience, having a good risk to reward ratio and full faith in your strategy.
If you have made it this far, I would like to thank you for taking your time to read my first reddit post. I hope you found it informative and please leave some feedback!

Avenger Trader Review – Is It Legit or Scam?

A Mechanical System That Really Works or Just a Scam ? Apart from the launch of the Fap Turbo robot, the launch of Forex Avenger was probably the biggest event of the 2008 year in the Forex trading community. The creator of Forex Avenger promised to bring us a trading system that is entirely mechanical with step-by-step, easy to follow instructions and an average success rate of 75% or higher. To find out if all the hype about this system was true, I decided to buy the product and test it myself.
Forex Avenger Did Forex Avenger deliver on its promises? It certainly did..see my full review below for more information. A mechanical system that consistently makes profitable trades is what most Forex traders are after. It is a known fact that even a system with a consistent success rate of 50% can make you money if you use good money management techniques to minimize losses and maximize profits. However, purely mechanical systems that make consistent profits are surprisingly scarce and finding a trader who makes a living from such a system is even harder, but Dave Curran is one such trader and Forex Avenger is the exact system that he uses to make a full time living trading the Forex markets. Forex Avenger is a mechanical Forex trading system that uses easy to follow technical indicators to determine when to buy or sell a currency pair. The system requires absolutely no discretion and the entry/exit rules are completely mechanical, so it is virtually impossible to make a mistake.

What does Forex Avenger Consist Of? Firstly, it is important to note that Forex Avenger is not an automated trading system like Fap Turbo, it is a manual trading system that can be used with any broker, on any trading platform. When you purchase the Forex Avenger product you immediately gain access to the full system, which consists of an 87 page ebook in pdf format, various videos and a number of bonusses. The ebook contains a detailed introduction to Forex trading of around 40 pages, which can be skipped by experienced traders. The core of the Forex Avenger system are made up by the following components:
The Forex Avenger System The main Forex Avenger system trades the EURUSD currency pair on the 1Hour timeframe. The system uses 2 standard indicators to determine entry signals and there are 1-2 trading opportunities every day. Exact profit targets and stop loss values are defined, so once a trade is entered you are done with it until either the stop loss of profit target is hit. One advantage of this system is the fact that you can see when there won’t be a trading opportunity in the near future, so you don’t have to monitor the hourly charts constantly. This system only requires you to look at the charts once every hour, at the close of the hourly candle. The Set ‘n Sleep System The Set ‘n Sleep system uses the same indicators as the main Forex Avenger system, but on the daily charts and a slightly different entry strategy is used. Trading opportunities don’t come often with this system, but all the major currency pairs can be traded, which should present around 2-3 trading opportunities per week. While the main Forex Avenger system requires some attention during the day, the Set ‘n Sleep system is ideal for the part time trader that can only trade after hours. This system only requires you to look at the charts once a day. Training Videos The videos included with the Forex Avenger packages are very detailed and really teaches you everything you need to know about the system. The video series starts with a good introduction where Dave Curran talks a bit about his history as a trader and how the Forex Avenger system was invented. Each of the systems above are then explained in great detail and various sample trades are performed. If you prefer watching video over reading an ebook, then the videos will teach you all you need to know about the system.

Is Forex Avenger Profitable? I have spent a lot of time backtesting this system against historical data and so far I am VERY impressed by the results. Both of the trading systems inside Forex Avenger are completely mechanical and incredibly accurate. The success rate is consistently around 75% and I can easily see how it is possible to achieve the kind of profits that are advertised. I am very excited about forward testing this system and hope to start posting results soon. Check the Forex Avenger category of this blog for my latest feedback.
Conclusions and Recommendations Once you start watching the Forex Avenger videos you quickly realize that Dave Curran is very passionate and proud of his system and that this is not just another hyped up scam that doesn’t deliver. This system caters for both the day trader as well as the part time trader and if what you are looking for is a simple, mechanical trading system that makes consistent profits under any market conditions, then Forex Avenger should be one of the top systems on your list to investigate.
